Gardening for the Birds Webinar

About this Webinar
Gardeners, like many people, are concerned about the blight of our birds. There’s been a dramatic decline in bird populations around the world, especially song birds. While many gardeners feed birds throughout the winter with bird feeders, there’s much more we can do to help our feathered friends.
We all have to chip in to help our birds. Bird populations are declining due to climate change, habitat destruction, predators, and pesticides. It seems like a giant worldwide problem, but every home owner can help in their back yard. I’ll talk about the the proper ways to feed birds with seed and suet. But mostly I’ll be talking about ways to create bird friendly habitats in your yard. Even in a small yard, you can create mini-ecosystems that will support bird’s nesting and raising their young. We’ll discuss the plantings and water sources necessary for birds to thrive in your yard.
In this Gardening for the Birds Webinar I’ll talk about all these aspects of bird-friendly landscaping. Whether you’re a casual bird watcher or experienced, there will be something for everyone in this webinar.
In this Webinar you’ll learn about:
- The best ways to feed birders using feeders
- Why native plants are better for birds than exotics
- The best trees, shrubs, and vines for natural bird food
- Ways to create habitats in your yard to promote bird nesting
- The best water sources for birds.
- Supporting bird populations with bird houses and shelters
This hour-long presentation will be followed with a ½ hour of questions and answers where I’ll be able to help you individually with your gardening situation.
